Russia keen on independent investigation of Nord Stream blasts

MOSCOW, Feb 15 (PRIME) -- The Federation Council, parliament's supreme chamber, will ask the Foreign Ministry to initiate an independent international investigation of blasts that ripped through the Nord Streams gas pipelines in the wake of media reports about the CIA involvement, according to a resolution published on Wednesday.

"I suggest applying to the Foreign Ministry and initiating an independent international investigation," Grigory Karasin, head of the international committee, said.

Speaker of the chamber supported the decision.

U.S. journalist Seymour Hersh said in his blog on the Substack platform on last week that the order to blow up the Nord Stream pipelines was given by CIA head William Burns. The U.S. denied it.
